To meet the challenge of the changing landscape of higher education, the Office of Academic Affairs has implemented a strategic re-organization across the Student Success Research Lab (SSRL) and Institutional Research and Planning (IRP) offices. In announcing the changes, Senior Vice-Provost for Academic Affairs Dr. Trevor Brown noted that, “With these changes, we better connect our data, analytics, and strategy. This positions the university to better serve our students and meet our institutional goals.”

Key Organizational Updates

  • Shanna Jaggars now reports directly to Trevor Brown, with a focus on student success strategy, planning, and implementation. She will also continue to lead the Student Success Research Lab (SSRL), maintaining its strong emphasis on academic scholarship related to student success.
  • SSRL’s Brianne Herrera and Nathan Johnson have joined IRP to enhance strategic data capacity and standardize operational reporting. Both will continue their vital work in assessment, analytics, and reporting in support of student academic success.

Dr. Jaggars noted that “I’m excited about this evolution, which will allow me to dedicate more energy to strategy, planning, and implementation of student success priorities, and will ensure that Brianne and Nate’s amazing work on student success assessment and analytics has meaningful impact across the entire university. I look forward to continuing to collaborate closely with IRP to support the university’s goals for student success.”

Both Dr. Brown and Dr. Jaggars noted that university partners that rely on Brianne and Nate for operational assessment and reporting can continue to work directly with Brianne and Nate in their new roles.
